A Kentucky native, Dembo earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2012. After law school, Dembo served on active duty as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the United States Navy, then as a federal prosecutor in the criminal section of the Civil Rights Division of the Depart- ment of Justice in Washington, D.C., investigating and prosecuting federal civil rights crimes nationwide. Dembo returned to Kentucky in March 2020 to work in the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and then served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Kentucky until he joined Tachau Meek’s civil and commercial litigation practice in July 2025. Dembo is currently working part- time while also undertaking a full-time campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in the Sixth Congressional District, where he lives with his wife. Tachau Meek PLC is also proud to welcome Gregory George to the firm’s Louisville office as an experienced associate attorney. George earned his law degree from Florida A&M University in 2018 (where he was Student Bar Association president and Com- mencement speaker). He then developed broad experience as a legal and policy analyst with the Department of the Navy; as an assistant state attorney who prosecuted more than 700 felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases, conducting jury trials, evidentiary hearings and plea negotiations; as an in-house insurance defense attorney; and most recently, as an associate attorney for a Ft. Lauderdale civil litigation firm. George and his family have recently moved to Louisville, and Tachau Meek is excited to have him join the firm’s civil and commercial litigation practice. The University of Kentucky (UK) Alumni Association recently inducted Stites & Harbi- son, PLLC attorney David B. Ratterman into the 2025 Hall of Distinguished Alumni. He is one of 20 inductees this year. The UK Alumni Association recognizes a select group of outstanding alumni and honors them by induction into the prestigious Hall of Distinguished Alumni every five years. Ratterman is a Senior Member (Partner) and consultant to the firm’s Construction Service Group on matters involving the fabricated structural steel industry in the U.S. and internationally. He has earned numerous awards and honors throughout his career. He is a Fellow and former Governor of the American College of Construction Lawyers. Born in Germany, Carl came to the United States with his family when he was about four years old. He embraced his new home with energy and optimism, building a life marked by achievement, kindness and dedication to his community. Carl received his law degree at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Carl’s profes- sional accomplishments were matched by his civic involvement. He served on the board of Jefferson Community College, where he was a tireless advocate for education and opportunity. Active in the Democratic Party, Carl believed deeply in public service and the importance of civic engagement. He was also proud to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of Male High School, a reflection of both his academic excellence and his lasting impact on classmates and teachers. A devoted and loyal son to his par- ents, Fred and Judith, Carl’s warmth and generosity extended far beyond family. He was known for his outgoing nature, friendly smile and remarkable social spirit. Carl never wanted to miss a gathering or a chance to connect with others, and his presence always brightened the room.
